Ranking my Top Favorite Games

My PERSONAL Top 10 Favorite Games of All Time

I tend to favor open-world sandbox games, 2D surreal RPGs, and puzzle-platformer games.

1. Pokémon Black/White
   1. Probably the most underrated of the 2D Pokémon games (people seriously seem to hate it because of the Pokémon designs)
   2. But it's seriously my favorite Pokémon game of them all
   3. Great animations and an actually decent story instead of just "I want to be the best trainer in the world"

1. Yume Nikki
   1. Extremely surreal because nothing is really explained
   2. Theorized to touch mature themes like trauma, bullying, sexual assault, and suicide
   3. The events are pretty terrifying (Faces, Uboa, Aztec Rave Monkey) and sometimes funny (Witch's Flight, Mars)

1. SLARPG

1. Stardew Valley
   1. Amazing intro and story with more adult-focused themes
   2. Great easy-to-pick-up game and casual game I can play anytime
   3. IMO the most impressive game made by a single person (like actually ONE person)

1. Undertale
   1. Crazy how much this game breaks the fourth wall and how different the game is depending on your choices
   2. Like there's games that do the same, like Chrono Trigger, but this genuinely feels like every choice you make makes a huge difference
   3. Unique battle system and the game is fun no matter if you do genocide/pacifist/neutral

1. GTA V
   1. Amazing to go around Los Santos and the graphics are so beautiful
   2. So much to do with driving, flying, heists
   3. GTA IV's story is better no doubt, but I honestly like playing between the 3 characters in GTA V and the gameplay is more important to me

1. OneShot
   1. Most "breaking the 4th wall" type of game I've ever played
   2. Like seriously, the game adds stuff to your PC that you need for puzzles, it changes the wallpaper, overlays windows, and the ending is the most mind-blowing thing I've ever seen in a game and makes you feel like Niko is a real character
   3. Beautiful story with insane lore and post-apocalyptic themes
   4. Great puzzles and a unique twist with a bigger emphasis on exploring the overworld to find stuff and combine them

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
   1. One of the hardest decisions I had to make in this list since ALTTP was always one of my most favorite games of all time
   2. But it takes everything from previous Zelda titles and makes it a whole true open-world concept like in Zelda 1
   3. There's so many secrets in the game that I'm still discovering to this day unlike ALTTP (which is probably the only game I 100% completed)
   4. My favorite parts are rolling the snowball to unlock the shrine
   5. And the Lost Woods where the fog envelopes you was such a cool effect
   6. I would still rank ALTTP #2 (best 2D Zelda game IMO) but I still need to play Link Between Worlds
   7. And then OOT 3DS #3 (N64 version controls/graphics/FPS sucked and Navi was annoying in both games + too much text/tutorials)

1. Celeste
   1. Amazing platformer
   2. Nice fluid mechanics
   3. Excellent music and story
   4. DLC kicked my ass (def best DLC ever) but it was worth it for the Moon Berry
   5. Some of the best mods with Strawberry Jam

1. Minecraft: Java Edition
   1. No game will ever beat Minecraft for me period.
   2. The simplicity + customizations + do-whatever-you-want-feel is what makes the game special
